Anesthesia Machine and Breathing Circuits

Course Details

This lecture has been RACE Approved for 1 CE hour for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

To understand structure and function of different components of the anesthesia machine and breathing circuits; to discuss waste gas, its removal and reduction; be able to trace the flow of oxygen through an anesthesia machine and patient breathing circuit; know the difference between a rebreathing and nonrebreathing circuit, precision and non-precision vaporizer, and low/high flow rates; describe proper maintenance procedures for anesthesia machines, vaporizers, circuits and associated equipment.
