Anesthesia: Selecting a Protocol (Equine)

This lecture has been RACE Approved for 0.5 CE hour for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

The primary learning objective of this segment is to improve the participant’s ability to develop an anesthetic plan for a typical equine case. By using an example orthopedic case, the participant will learn how to identify the important physical exam findings and medical history that will affect the anesthetic protocol, compound them into a problem list, and how they will predispose different cases to the common anesthetic complications. The segment will review most common anesthetic protocols and the pros and cons of varying protocol decisions.
