Anesthetic Management of an ASA III Case (Equine)

This segment discusses and equine colic case example in the perspective of managing the severe cardiopulmonary complications in unstable patients. The presentation provides a systematic approach to generating a problem list and differential diagnoses for the common anesthetic complications. In discussing the cardiopulmonary compromise in this patient population, the participant will also review V/Q ratios, the clinical implications and management strategies of V/Q mismatching, and a systematic approach to the management of hypotension.
