Blood, Sweat & Tears: Approach to the Hemoabdomen
Course Details
This lecture has been RACE approved for 1 CE for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
This lecture will provide attendees with a thorough review of the approach to the diagnosis and treatment of hemoabdomen in cats and dogs. We will review the common causes of non-traumatic hemoabdomen and the associated prognosis. The majority of the lecture will focus on stabilization of the patient to allow for continued surgical or medical management. This lecture will not have a strong emphasis on the actual surgical approach to hemoabdomen but rather perioperative stabilization, anesthetic management and post-surgical care. The management of traumatic hemoabdomen will also be covered. By the end of this lecture the attendee should feel comfortable with diagnosis and treatment of this condition and how to advise the owners on prognosis.
