Course Details

This lecture has been RACE approved for 1.5 CE hours for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

Three groups of analgesic agents will be discussed in this seminar: opioids, alpha two agonists, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. For each, pharmacologic traits as a group, mechanism of action, target cells and locations, as well as dosing, and clinical caveats to administration will be shown. recent advances in each area (oral transmucosal products, topical applications, and targeted therapies such as EP4 antagonism) will also be presented.
