Derm Cytology: Making a Great Impression

This lecture has been RACE Approved for 1 CE hour for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

Cytology is the cornerstone of dermatology, which when done appropriately and practiced, can give us a rapid answer and act as a guide for further diagnostics. The goal of this lecture is to become familiar with common cytology collection techniques, sample handling, processing, and most importantly interpretation. Direct impression, acetate tape, and cotton swab impression will be covered utilizing a case based approach to determine normal versus abnormal findings and to allow us to formulate a plan to determine underlying dermatologic disease.
