Diagnostic Approach to the Pruritic Dog

This lecture has been RACE Approved for 1 CE hour for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

Participants will learn the CSI based approach to taking a statement (gather history) and collecting evidence (physical examination, cytology, diagnostic tests) in order to work though the potential causes of pruritus and to help formulate a list of differentials for the pruritic and allergic dog. We will discuss common medication options to lessen/stop pruritus in order to assist us in working through flea allergy dermatitis and cutaneous adverse food reactions to reach a definitive diagnosis of atopic dermatitis.
