Direct Arterial Blood Pressure Monitoring and Blood Gas Troubleshooting

In addition to reviewing arterial blood pressure monitoring importance, this webinar allows the participant an understanding of direct arterial line placement, location, prep, equipment management and troubleshooting, as well as interpretation of the arterial pressure waveform, its relationship to other monitoring variables and treatment of hypotension. Acid base, electrolyte and oxygenation variables are then discussed with a focus on arterial sampling, indications, precautions, procurement of samples and finally interpretation of results with emphasis on deciding acidosis, alkalosis, metabolic or respiratory components, compensation adequacy and oxygenation adequacy.
