Program Description:

This course will discuss the presentation, method of action, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and management of common hepatotoxins on the ER floor. The course should be comprehensive for experienced and emerging emergency veterinarians.

Learning Objectives:

Emergency practitioners should rapidly recognize hepatotoxins and understand their method of action fundamentally. Using their understanding of the hepatotoxic insult, practitioners should be able to formulate an appropriate diagnostic summary to guide an effective, evidence-based treatment plan. Emergency practitioners should feel comfortable designing a monitoring schedule based on the hepatatoxin and the patients’ response to treatment.
