Lower Your Dose – Improving Radiation Safety through Non-Manual Restraint Radiography

This lecture has been RACE Approved for 1 CE hour of continuing education credit for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

During this presentation, veterinary staff will learn the principles of radiation safety and the use of non-manual restraint techniques that will help to reduce their radiation exposure. The goal is to provide guidance on how to decrease the amount of time staff is in the radiography suite while continuing to obtain diagnostic quality images. We will discuss positioning for standard views of the thorax and abdomen, positioning for orthopedic radiographs, use of positional aides and personal protective equipment (PPE).
