Neurolocalization in Dogs and Cats

Lecture Description:

This lecture details the essential components of neurolocalization, the process used to identify the specific site of nervous system dysfunction in animals. After performing a complete systematic neurologic exam, the clinician must ask themselves two questions: (1) does this patient have neurologic disease, and (2) if so, where is the lesion located. The lecture will discuss and provide images and videos from the neurologic exam of real-world patients and how the clinical signs relate to lesion location. We will focus understanding functional neuroanatomy as it relates to various clinical signs in order to make an accurate neuroanatomical diagnosis.
