Not All Blood Products are the Same: Transfusion Medicine in your Daily Practice

This lecture has been RACE approved for 1 CE hour for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

In this presentation, veterinarians will learn how to test for blood type and when to type in both dogs and cats. Major and minor cross matches will also be discussed. The components of transfusion medicine and indications for each blood product will be covered. Current literature about transfusions will be reviewed. Participants will also learn about the common blood transfusion reactions and treatments.
