Reducing Controlled Substance Use in Daily Small Animal Practice

This lecture has been RACE Approved for 1 CE hour for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

This presentation will guide the participant through an understanding of nerve blocks and epidurals, through better understanding why we should use them, review of literature to support efficacy, opioid reduction, safety, pharmacology and differences of the drugs within local anesthesia classes, & tools and tips for actual nerve location. Specific nerve blocks, epidurals, drugs utilized, anatomy and clinical nuances will also be discussed. An introduction to liposomal encapsulated bupivacaine will be given.
