Respiratory Rate Issues and Intraoperative Wakening
Course Details
This lecture has been RACE approved for 1 CE hour for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
This lecture aims to allow the participant a means to troubleshoot vital parameter changes which commonly occur intraoperatively. Differentiating light planes of anesthesia from hypoxia, hypercarbia, hyperthermia and endocrine overload are discussed in an effort to allow triage of respiratory rate and character intraoperative signs. Additionally, intraoperative wakening, awareness, and sensation occur in small animal patients regularly: having an algorithm which allows step by step assessment of patient and rule outs/treatments is crucial; this will be presented in an effort to not only improve patient care, but allow procedural continuity and increase team work flow.
