Stress Reduction in the Veterinary Clinic

The veterinary clinic can be a very stressful place for the animals. Veterinarians and veterinary technicians need to be able to recognize stress and fear in their patients and do everything they can to reduce these negative emotions so that they are able to provide quality veterinary care. This lecture reviews the reasons why dogs and cats are stressed and afraid in the clinic, describe the signals and body postures that indicate stress and discuss strategies that can be used to reduce these negative emotions.
