Learning Objectives:

• Understand how modern monitoring technology with digital presentation of information is confounded by proprietary signal processing that can affect the measurement and it’s interpretation.
• For any vital parameter or measurement, develop understanding of how the normal variability affects how we can use this in problem recognition and management.
• Understand how artificial intelligence can add value to the knowledge it’s interpretation by operators, potentially improving decision making and responses.
• Understand how human interaction with devices and systems influences decision making and responses so is a consideration in development of future technology.
