Understanding Feline Stomatitis

This lecture has been RACE approved for 1 CE hour for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

The objective of this lecture is to give attendees an in depth understanding of stomatitis in the cat. In this 50-minute lecture attendees will learn to recognize patient symptoms and the clinical appearance of the disease, and to describe the histopathology of affected dental tissues. A portion of the lecture will review surgical and medical management of this confounding disease. Etiology and potential co-factors of the disease will be presented. Attendees should be able to differentiate stomatitis from gingivitis, periodontal disease, tooth resorption and oral neoplasia. Past and present nomenclature will be reviewed.
