When it’s Not a Disc: Non-IVDD Spinal Disorders

This lecture has been RACE approved for 1.0 CE hour for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

Summary: While intervertebral disc disease is the most common spinal cord disorder in dogs, there are many other common spinal cord disorders in dogs. This lecture will focus on diseases other than IVDD. We will cover the more common forms of inflammatory & infectious disorders, such as discospondylitis, Steroid-Responsive Meningitis-Arteritis, Granulomatous Meningoencephalomyelitis, and others. We’ll also cover the more common vertebral and spinal tumors of dogs and cats, various vertebral & spinal cord malformations, vascular events (e.g., FCE), trauma, and other disorders.
